Behind the Scenes of our Shoot for Lotus Fresh

A bright, colorful shoot that screams feminine energy is exactly what we were going for -

We’ve been working with Nerissa from Lotus Fresh for quite a few years now and when we did a little update to some of her product packaging we knew we needed a fresh shoot to go along with it (pun totally intended!)

A big part of our process includes actually planning the shoot. This means finding the perfect location, sourcing props, hiring models, creating shot lists, and even DIY projects to make sure we’re able to bring our full vision to life.

Lotus Fresh is a vibrant brand with ALL the pastel colors, which meant we knew we needed one major thing - a colorful bathroom to serve as the backdrop for the shoot. After days of searching multiple cities in North Carolina and finding absolutely ZERO colorful bathrooms (why is everything brown here???), we scrapped the idea of traveling to the pretty bathroom of our dreams and decided to create multiple fake bathroom sets in house.

The outcome? Absolute perfection - we had complete control over the color palette, ensuring we incorporated not only her beautiful lavender and pink color, but bringing in her greens and blues as well.

We created fake shower sets with cardboard boxes, sticky tiles, and small pieces of acrylic to resemble shower doors. We brought in colorful rugs and tile backdrops to act as the bathroom floor. And our favorite, a purple shower curtain that we hung from a clothing rack and a piece of pink acrylic to act as a shelf inside the our fake shower setup.

We even brought in a hand/leg model to give a little life to the images and making them so much more relatable.
